No surprises here… Belgium is brilliant for cycling!

After a hilly start just outside Dover and a bit of a tussle with some big roads out of Dunkirk (see navigational issues below!) we made it to Bruges. It was another 100km + day today but mostly on fabulous flat smooth roads that felt far better than their British equivalent! Top speed of 40kph but an average of 30kph meant we really ate the distance up.

And now we’ve got 2 days in a lovely hotel to get our breath back and our heads round the journey ahead. The scale of this trip is only really just beginning to sink in…
