So much for breaking ourselves in gently…

We arrived in Whitstable at around 8.30pm tonight, rather wet, tired and hungry from a 114km ride (it sounds further if you say it in km rather than miles!) We set off from 3 Mills later than planned and were easily persuaded into doing a longer distance by a very kind offer of a house in Whitstable  (thanks Salty and Tanya!)
The comfy sofa and warm shower are currently making it all worthwhile.
Despite the long ride, we had a good day – our first heckle (she’s not pedalling!) in Plumstead, a super friendly bike shop in Bexley, getting up a big hill near Faversham with a lot of huffing and puffing. And tomorrow is just a gentle jaunt to Dover. The adventure has begun!

I would just like to say, the heckler in Plumstead wasn’t me. Honest gov! Have fun!
